One Closed Chapter and the Start of a New One!

Hello RW2B!!!

This will be your last blog post that you need to complete for this course.  You should have a total of 10 posts on your blog and at least 2 comments/week on other blogs.  Your blog will count for 10 percent of your final grade.  Please complete all of your blog requirements by March 31st at midnight!

This week, please write about what your plans are for after you finish this Spring Semester in the English Language Program at the U of C.  Are you going back to your country?  What are you going to do there? Are you staying in Canada?  Please be specific and detailed in your response.

I will keep this blog available for you to see after the semester is over.  If you want to continue to write on your blog, please feel free to do so!  I will be interested in reading about what you are up to.

The best of luck to everyone!

The pen is in your hands, the rest is still unwritten.

Video Games

Hi RW2B!  and my mom (Toni)!

This week we started Unit 6: Serious Fun.  This unit gives information about playing traditional games and video games.  I am curious to know what you think about children playing video games.  It is more common to find children playing video games, rather than playing board games, cards, or sports.  What is your opinion about video games?  Are they good for children to play?  bad?  and WHY????

Culture and Etiquette

Sometimes people from one culture think that people from another culture are rude.  In reality, they are just following different rules of etiquette.  Compare two cultures you know that are very different.  What rules might help people in these two cultures get along?

Open Topic

Hello RW 2B!

I trust that you all had a wonderful long weekend!  By Thursday of next week (March 1st), you should have 5 posts on your blog AND at least 10 comments on your classmates blogs.  Make sure that when you make a comment, your name is included (not anonymous).

This week, I am giving you the opportunity to write a post about ANYTHING YOU WANT!  How exciting!  I would like to challenge you though and make it a requirement for this weeks post to include some pictures (your own or from the internet) or videos.  Be creative!  Have fun!

Peace,
Julie & Genki Sushi Furball

Here is a photo of a snowcat that Toni Furber thinks looks similar to Genki.  What do you think?  Let us know by leaving a comment :)

Crime and Punishment

Hello RW2B!  We are well on our way into Unit 4, talking about Restorative Justice.

Have you ever been the victim of crime?  Or, do you know someone that was the victim of crime?  In 2 - 3 paragraphs, describe the crime.  Describe where it happened, what time of day it was, and what each person was doing before the crime.  What happened after the crime?  What happened to the offender?  Do you think the traditional justice system worked well in that case?

Have a great LOOOOONG weekend!  See you on Wednesday.  Don't forget to send me your assignment for Unit 3 by Wednesday, February 22!

Have fun and have a great week!

1st Post

Welcome to the world of blogging!!!!  For your first post, I would like you to write an introduction about yourself.  I would also like for you to write about something you are passionate about.  Maybe a hobby, your career, your ideal job, a pet, or Genki :)

Make sure that you create a link on your blog to this blog.  That way, it will be easier to check the assignment for the week.

Have fun and let me know if you have any questions or are experiencing any difficulties.

Cheers,

Julie & Genki
